The Embassy of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in pursuance of its ‘clean hand’ initiative titled “Let’s Give Everyone a [Clean] Hand” distributed hand sanitizers among the children of the Pakistan Sweet Homes (PSH) orphanage on Thursday.
Second Secretary of the UAE Embassy, Rashid Abdalrahman Al-Ali on behalf of the UAE Ambassador Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Al-Zaabi handed over 4,000 hand sanitizers to the Sweet Homes saying he felt highly pleased to be in the company of the children.
Pakistan Sweet Homes is taking care of hundreds of children providing them quality education, food and boarding which is indeed a great work, he said acknowledging its efforts.
About the clean hand initiative, Rashid Abdalrahman Al-Ali said it aimed at supporting the schools, colleges, universities and orphanages of Islamabad in battle against Covid-19.
Washing hand is the primary and the most effective shield against coronavirus that is why the UAE embassy has launched this initiative for the educational institutions of the federal capital.
Earlier, upon arrival Rashid Abdalrahman Al-Ali was received by General Manager of the Pakistan Sweet Homes Hammad Malik and Director Admin Abdul Wahid Babar.
A documentary was also screened on the occasion. The guests were told that former parliamentarian and ex-MD Pakistan Baitul Maal (PBM) Zamurd Khan laid down the foundation of the sweet homes back in 2009. He is the lifetime patron-in-chief of the PSH.
Currently, four branches are operational in Mirali, (North Waziristan), Sargodha, Gujjar Khan and Islamabad. In Mirali (North Waziristan) PSH was established with the help of the Pakistan Army, it was further told.
