Two kids, as many women die as roof caves in

Four persons including two children died and five others sustained injuries when roof of an under-construction house caved in on Monday.

Rescue 1122 officials informed that the incident occurred in Chak 7, on Sargodha Road in Faisalabad.

They said that roof of an under-construction house collapsed, leaving nine persons buried under the debris.

On information, the Rescue 1122 team rushed to the scene and pulled out four dead including two women and two children while five others including three kids sustained injuries.

The deceased persons were identified as: 28-year-old Shumaila, 24-year-old Ayesha, 7-year-old Ume Habib and three-year-old Zamir.

The rescuers said that the dead bodies were handed over to the family and injured were shifted to hospital.

Meanwhile, residents took to the streets after sewage entered their homes on Jhang Road on Monday. They blocked the Jhang Road and chanted slogans against the district administration.

A protester said that the sewerage system has been overflowing in the area for the past one month ago but the administration did nothing.

Another resident said that the smell has made it difficult to even breathe but now sewage has flowed inside their homes, making their situation worse. They asked the authorities to clear the dirty water.
