Police in separate operations recovered two young children who had been kidnapped from different areas of Sindh on Thursday. Kandhkot police recovered a two-year-old boy, who had been kidnapped five days ago, after a shootout with dacoits.

The police spokesperson said that the deputy superintendent of police (DSP) and the station house officer (SHO) conducted an operation in Risaldar area after a tip-off about the presence of the child there. “The dacoits fired shots at police, but they had to flee away, leaving the child behind, after the police fired back in retaliation,” he added.

The joy of the boy’s parents knew no bounds after the successful police operation. The citizens also raised slogans in favour of the police and flung Ajrak around the shoulders of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Zubair Nazir Sheikh. In another such incident, Khairpur police recovered an innocent girl, Akasha, who had been abducted from Sehwan Sharif shrine a few days ago. On the orders of SSP Mir Rohal Khan Khoso, the lady police and A-Section police conducted a joint operation and recovered the girl from City Hospital.

The police teams also arrested the woman abductor, Afrooz Moreo, and registered a case against him. “The abduction case had been registered at Sehwan police station on a complaint of Qamaruddin Naich,” the SSP said. The family of the girl thanked the SSP over the recovery of their baby girl. They garlanded him and expressed good wishes for him.
