KARACHI – As robberies and street crime go uncontrolled in southern port city of Karachi, an anchor of a private television channel has fallen victim to a robbery at his home.
The incident took place in Shah Faisal Colony of the city on Tuesday, police said while confirming that suspect involved in this crime had been nabbed within hours of the robbery.
SSP Korangi Tauheed Rahman confirmed the development stating that the suspect was arrested after police took a swift action following a complaint lodged by the anchor.
The stolen items have been recovered from the possession of the robber while a case has been registered against him for further legal action.
As per available data, a total of 108 people were killed during robbery resistance only in 2023. Out of them, 16 were killed in Central, two in City, 30 in East, 16 in Keamari, 17 in Korangi, 10 in Malir, one in South and 16 in West.
During the ongoing year of 2024, 33 people have been killed during robbery resistance till March 28.
