ZubairTufail, President of United Business Group (UBG) and former president of FPCCI, extended congratulations to the Caretaker Federal Minister for Commerce and Industry, GoharEjaz, for assuming the additional responsibility of the Federal Ministry of Interior. Tufail praised the decision made by Caretaker Prime Minister AnwarulHaqKakar, emphasizing its timeliness as the nation approaches elections.
In the wake of growing concerns over security and recent reports of terrorist attacks, Tufail expressed confidence that GoharEjaz’s stewardship of the Interior Ministry will contribute to enhancing law and order in the country. Given the Election Commission of Pakistan’s call for army deployment amid a surge in militant activities, the move is seen as crucial for maintaining a secure environment during the upcoming elections. Tufail highlighted the importance of implementing Article 144 to ensure a peaceful atmosphere during the general elections in 2024.
He stressed the need to ban the display of weapons, purchase and sale of fireworks, and the use of explosives to allow the public to exercise their voting rights without hindrance. Tufail believes that such measures, along with adhering to court orders regarding banners and hoardings, will contribute to a smooth electoral process and the establishment of a stable government post-elections.
