Tribute paid to Mirwaiz Farooq, Khawaja Lone, and Hawal martyrs

The All Parties Hurriyat Conference has paid rich tribute to prominent martyred Hurriyat leaders Mirwaiz Molvi Muhammad Farooq, Khawaja Abdul Ghani Lone and the Hawal martyrs on their martyrdom anniversaries in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, today.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Mirwaiz Molvi Farooq was assassinated by unidentified gunmen at his residence in Srinagar on May 21, 1990. On the same day, over 70 mourners were killed when Indian troops opened indiscriminate fire on his funeral procession in the Hawal area of Srinagar. Twelve years later, on May 21, 2002, unknown attackers shot dead Khawaja Abdul Ghani Lone as he was returning from addressing a gathering at the Martyrs’ Graveyard in Srinagar.

APHC leaders, including illegally detained Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Bilal Siddiqi, Fayaz Hussain Jafri, Zamrooda Habib, Abdul Samad Inqilabi, Syed Sibt Shabbir Qummi and Maulana Musaib Nadvi, in their statements, stated that the martyrs of the freedom movement are the heroes of the Kashmiri people. They reiterated the Kashmiris’ resolve to accomplish the mission of their martyrs at all costs.

The leaders emphasized that these noble souls sacrificed their lives for the great and sacred cause of freedom. They highlighted that the martyrs were torchbearers of the freedom movement, and their struggle, teachings, and sacrifices serve as role models for future generations of Kashmir.

The Jammu and Kashmir Awami Action Committee (AAC) and Anjuman Nusrat-ul-Islam also paid rich tribute to Mirwaiz Molvi Muhammad Farooq and Khawaja Abdul Ghani Lone on their martyrdom anniversaries.

Meanwhile, the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) paid tribute to both martyrs for their roles and sacrifices in the freedom struggle of Jammu and Kashmir.

The Azad Jammu and Kashmir chapter of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference and Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Cell jointly organized a seminar at Kashmir House Islamabad to pay homage to eminent Kashmiri martyred leaders Mirwaiz Moulvi Muhammad Farooq, Khawaja Abdul Ghani Lone and martyrs of Hawal on their martyrdom anniversaries today.

According to Kashmir Media Service, speakers at the seminar paid homage to Mirwaiz Moulvi Farooq and Khawaja Abdul Ghani Lone as heroes of the Kashmiri people, who fought tirelessly for freedom despite Indian conspiracies, oppression, and tyranny. They vowed to continue the mission of the martyrs until Kashmir is liberated from Indian subjugation.

AJK Minister Imtiaz Naseem, convener Mahmood Ahmed Saghar, Dr Ghulam Nabi Fai, Abdul Rasheed Tarabi, Nazir Ahmad Qureshi, and Hurriyat leaders and officials participated in the seminar, paying tribute to the martyred leaders and reaffirming their commitment to the Kashmiri freedom movement.

Others who attended the event include Ghulam Muhammad Safi, Syed Faiz Naqshbandi, Raja Najabat, Faheem Kayani, Wajahat Rasheed Baig, Afsar Khan, Sardar Najib Al-Ghafoor, Sheikh Abdul Mateen, Imtiaz Wani, Altaf Hussain Wani, Nisar Mirza, Sanaullah Dar, Advocate Pervez Ahmed, Muhammad Shafi Dar, Javed Iqbal Butt, Mushtaq Ahmad Butt, Zahid Safi, Haji Sultan Butt, Mian Muzaffar, Dawood Yousafzai, Sheikh Abdul Majid, Gulshan Ahmad, Manzoor Ahmad Dar, Adeel Mushtaq Wani, Nazir Ahmad Karnai, Syed Mushtaq, Abdul Majeed Lone, Mushtaqul Islam, Malik Naeem, Khurshid Ahmad Mir, Zafar Qureshi, Sardar Zulfiqar, Hasan Al Banna, Sardar Asim Abbasi, Rais Ahmed Mir,.
