Traders of Al-Hadeed Market located on the busiest Gujranwala road in Hafizabad have protested against the burglaries in three shops last night from where the accused made off with cash and other articles worth million of rupees.
The traders observed complete strike today and took out a rally, which was led by Mumtaz Azhar Bhatti. They raised slogans against police for its negligence in patrolling during the nights as a result of which, theft, burglary and dacoity incidents in the city have been increased and the police have miserably failed to arrest any of the accused.
They said that few days ago a daring dacoity was committed in the house of an industrialist in broad day light on the congested Farooq-i-Azam road and the bandits snatched away cash and gold ornaments worth over Rs. five million but the police have so far failed to arrest any of the accused. Moreover, bike snatching/lifting incidents in the district have also been increased but the police miserably failed to prevent such incidents.
