A City court Monday sent six accused on the judicial remand to jail in the case of TikToker Ayesha Akram’s molestation.

According to a private TV channel, Judicial Magistrate Hassan Sarfraz Cheema heard the case and rejected the request of the police to grant physical remand of the accused.

All the six-accused were identified by Ayesha Akram Baig during the identification parade in the jail some days ago.

The Lorri Adda Police produced the accused identified as Shehryar, Mehran, Abid, Arsalan, Sajid and Iftikhar in the court of the judicial magistrate on Monday.

On September 03, a City court acquitted 98 suspects arrested in connection with the ‘molestation’ of TikToker Ayesha Akram Baig at Greater Iqbal Park on August 14. Later, all of them were released from jail.

Similarly, another court in Lahore on Friday extended the interim bail granted to two suspects in TikToker’s ‘molestation’ case till September 14.

Usman Aziz Sheikh and Shehroze Saeed had filed petitions in the court, seeking pre-arrest bails in the case. Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Saeed, who heard the petitions, also sought from police a complete record of the case.

Nazim Shehzad Chaudhry Advocate, who appeared on behalf of both the suspects, told the court that his clients wanted to cooperate with police in the investigation.

“And since both of them feared arrests, therefore, it is prayed to the court to order the police not to arrest them,” he implored.

Ayesha had told police that Iftikhar had lifted her and torn her clothes, Arsalan and Mehran beat her up, Shehryar pushed her towards the park’s fence, Abid took selfies with her while Sajid incited other youth to manhandle her.
