Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif laid the foundation stone of the Seerat Museum in Federal Capital on Saturday. This is an important and commendable initiative to promote teachings of the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) and dispel misconceptions and misperceptions about Islam.
By providing insights into the Prophet’s life and character marked by boundless mercy, kindness, respect, generosity, righteousness and selflessness that serve as a beacon of guidance and inspiration for humanity, we are confident that the museum will serve as an effective platform to dismantle stereotypes and foster mutual respect among people of different faiths.
It is essential to inform new generation, as well as people of other faiths, about real essence of Islam and the exemplary life led by the Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him). His teachings emphasise values of compassion, justice and tolerance that are universally relevant and essential for building a harmonious society. The support from Saudi Arabia for establishment of Seerat Museum underscores the importance of international cooperation in promoting interfaith understanding and dialogue. There is also a need to replicate such efforts in other parts of the world, particularly in Western countries where Islamophobia is on the rise.
The UN and independent experts have warned that acts of harassment, intimidation, violence and incitement based on religion or belief including against Muslims have risen to alarming levels globally. Hence it is important to address this issue on urgent basis. Interfaith dialogue serves as a vital catalyst for cultivating mutual understanding. Therefore, it remains essential to persist in our efforts to champion interfaith dialogue and comprehension on a global scale, as it is integral to nurturing an environment of peace and harmony.
