A meeting was held between Director General Punjab, Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) and Secretary, Punjab Industries, Commerce, Investment and Skill Development (ICI & SD) on Thursday to collaborate for the promotion of trade and investment in the Punjab region.
The purpose of the meeting was to apprise the Punjab Government about TDAP’s upcoming Mega-Events and discuss areas of collaboration between the Federal and Provincial Governments with respect to Strategic Trade Policy Framework (STPF).
The Director General apprised the Secretary about the importance of the two upcoming events i.e. Engineering and Healthcare Expo 2022 and Wexnet 2022. He also explained the work structure of TDAP and how the organization wishes to develop linkages with the Punjab Government and facilitate in the creation of sectoral committees/councils and development of provincial export development plan as per STPF 20-25.
Secretary ICI&SD welcomed the initiative and appreciated how both the departments will complement each other for the development of trade and investment in Punjab. He ensured that sectoral plans will be shared with TDAP so that a mutually beneficial outcome may be achieved.
In the end, both the organizations exchanged the contact details of their focal persons. In the future, quarterly meetings will be held between the two heads to discuss strategy and progress updates.
