Former Federal Minister and the PML-N leader Tariq Fazal Chaudhry’s young son Anza Tariq who had lost his life Monday night in a road accident on Islamabad’s 7th Avenue was buried Tuesday in the family’s ancestral graveyard in Chatha Bakhtawar.
Earlier, in the day, a large number of the workers and leaders of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), members of family and friends attended his funeral prayers at the PML-N Secretariat Park Road, Chatha Bakhtawar.
Among those who attended Anza’s funeral prayers included Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervaiz Ashraf , Zafar Iqbal Jhagra, Syed Nayyir Bukhari, former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Defence Minister Khawja Muhammad Asif, Minister for Planning Development & Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah, Adviser to PM Amir Muqam, PPP’s Sibtain Bukhari, PTI’s ex-MNA Raja Khurram Nawaz, PML-N Islamabad’s leaders Syed Zeshan Naqvi, Anjum Aqeel Khan, MNAs, senators, officials of the District Administration, Police and a large number of the PML-N workers.
In his brief address on the occasion, Tariq Fazal Chaudhry expressed gratitude to those who had arrived to attend the funeral of his son. “My son,” he said, “lost his life while trying to save a motorcyclist. He was a very obedient, lovable lad and I request all of you to pray for his blessing.” In the wake of this heartbreaking incident, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed profound grief and sadness over the loss of the PML-N leader’s son.According to the Islamabad Police, the former minister’s son, Anza Tariq, was travelling in a 4×4 vehicle along 7th Avenue when he met with an accident. According to the police, Anza lost control of the vehicle when he tried to avoid a motorcyclist who suddenly came in his way. The vehicle overturned and rolled a couple of times before coming to rest along the greenbelt. Anza was rushed to the hospital however, he succumbed to head injuries. At the time of the accident he was driving the vehicle while the security guard escorting him sustained serious injuries.
