Tarar assures EU envoy of all step for minorities welfare

Federal Minister for Law and Justice and Human Rights Senator AzamNazeerTarar has assured the Ambassador of the European Union (EU) to Pakistan, Dr. RiinaKionka that government is taking all measures for welfare and protection of minorities.

He was talking to EU Ambassador to Pakistan who called on him here on Wednesday and discussed with him relations between Pakistan and European Union and issues of mutual interest.

Senator AzamNazeerTarar informed the ambassador that the Parliament had also passed resolutions the betterment of minorities and protection of rights of minorities.

He said that provincial governments had also been urged to play an effective role in protecting the rights of minorities.

During the meeting, issues regarding Pakistan’s GSP-plus status also came under discussion.
