Four new dengue fever cases have been reported in the provincial metropolis, taking the number of total cases to 74 in the City during the current year so far.
According to a spokesperson for the Primary and Secondary Health Department, four more cases of dengue fever have been detected, which took the dengue cases to 74 in the City and 147 across Punjab province in the current year.
The spokesperson of the Punjab Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department, informed that three new cases of dengue fever were reported in Lahore and one in Attock.
So far this year, 74 confirmed cases of dengue fever have been confirmed in Lahore and 147 across Punjab.
The number of confirmed dengue fever cases in Punjab has reached 147 this year from January 2020 so far, after detection of four new cases, the spokesperson said.
He further stated that no death has been reported in the ongoing year due to the dengue virus, adding that the most patients have recovered to health.
During the last one week, dengue mosquito larvae have been recovered from 1,131 places across the province.
A spokesman for the health department has appealed to the public to stay safe from the dengue virus by keeping their surroundings dry and clean.

Earlier in the month of August, as many as 533 suspected patients of dengue fever were reported in Punjab in a single day.
The patients after tests were declared healthy and were allowed to leave for their homes.
According to medical experts, dengue fever is caused by the bite of a certain type of mosquito. The prominent symptoms of dengue fever include high fever, headache, nausea, severe joint and muscle pain and diarrhea.
The risk of dengue mosquito bites is higher in the early morning and at sunset. Wear a long sleeve shirt during these times and do not go out unnecessarily. Water should not be allowed to accumulate in any place in the house.
Medical experts say that mosquito repellent should be sprayed on the beds of plants and oxen, and mosquito repellent lotion should be applied on exposed parts of the body, mouth and arms.
Meanwhile, Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmeen Rashid said that the provincial government has been taking all-out measures to cope with the menace of dengue fever.
“The ratio of dengue cases has substantially been reduced due to the efforts made by the district authorities and other concerned departments,” she said.
She directed to carry out effective measure for preventing the growth of dengue larva. The minister said that dengue patients were being provided best medical facilities at public sector hospitals in Punjab.
