A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Secretary Evacuee Trust Property Board Farid Iqbal to review the performance of various zones and district offices of the board & assigned important tasks including assessment of rent at market rates, increasing the department’s income, recovery, etc. According to the press releases issued by the spokesperson of the board, a phased meeting was held at the head office under the chairmanship of Secretary ETP Board Farid Iqbal to review the performance of all the zonal administrators, deputy administrators, rent collectors and staff of the district offices.
The Secretary Board issued instructions to all districts, saying that strict action should be taken against illegal occupants and facilitators to protect the trust land and increase the department’s income, and recovery from the defaulters of the department and 100% payment of bills on a monthly basis should be ensured. He said that the valuable land of the department should be presented for development, while as per the orders of the Supreme Court, the process of assessing the rent of the land at market rates should be completed as soon as possible.
As per the orders of the federal government and Chairman Board Syed Atta-ur-Rehman, operations have been carried out against illegal occupants in District Cut Lahore, Nankana Sahib, Sahiwal, Pakpattan, Karachi and other districts and trust land has been recovered.
Meanwhile, the Secretary Board has termed the news published regarding the land in Bhera Tehsil of Sargodha as baseless and said that the case regarding the declaration of this land as a trust is under hearing by various individuals and departments, which is yet to be decided. As soon as a decision is taken in this regard, it will be implemented accordingly.
Administrator Karachi Zone Asif Khan, Administrator Multan Zone, Administrators Saleem Gondal of Faisalabad Zone and Deputy Administrators Sargodha Hassan Turab, Inspector Aamir Hussain Hashmi attended the meeting. The Secretary Board appreciated the performance of the staff and officers and issued orders to improve recovery and other matters.
