Federal Minister for Industries and Production Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtiar has said that steps on modern lines are being taken to increase small and medium entrepreneurs (SMEs) in the country.
The minister said this during a meeting with Governor Sindh Imran Ismail on Thursday, wherein matters related to construction and development of industrial zones, issues of Pakistan Steel Mills and other issues of bilateral interest were discussed.
Bakhtiar said that the new SME policy will result in an increase in business in the country and said that all possible facilities are being provided to the business community linked with the industrial sector.
Bakhtiar said that all possible facilities are being extended to the business community attached to the industrial sector. He said that all issues related to export processing zones are sorted out, and these will soon be presented before the federal cabinet for approval.
The minister said that an industrial park and export processing zone is being developed on 1,500 acres within the limits of PSM. He said that the government is taking steps on priority to promote value-added export-oriented industries.
The governor said that the growth of the industrial sector is fruitful for the overall economy of the country. He said that measures regarding the construction and development of industrial zones will further strengthen the economy.
He welcomed the steps in line with easy access to industries to the manpower looking for employment opportunities in Karachi.
