ISLAMABAD President of the Islamabad Industrial Association (IIA) and Chief of the Employers’ Federation of Pakistan (EFP) Islamabad Chapter M Akram Farid said that after the announcement of a special package by the Prime Minister Imran Khan for the construction sector, Islamabad Industrial Association demands that it be allowed to work again as the construction sector without steel will be unable to move forward. He expressed these views through a video link conference in which all stakeholders expressed their grave concerns regarding their respective industries. Appreciating the announcement, M Akram Farid said that the recent move to open up job opportunities for the country’s workforce as well as steel is the backbone of the construction industry. We urge upon the government to open the steel sector immediately, especially to all those who have labor colonies or residential arrangements in the premises of their Industrial plants. Arrangements are being made around the plants and can work with the security measures needed by the personnel to deal with Corvid 19. At the meeting held under the chair of M Akram Farid through video link it was decided that the payment of bills should be received for three months at a later date and the interest rate should be reduced.
