State terrorism in Occupied Kashmir

PAKISTAN on Thursday said that despite deploying 900,000 troops in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), New Delhi is trying to portray a false sense of normalcy in the occupied valley to mislead the international community.

At the weekly news briefing, Foreign Office Spokesperson Asim Iftikhar Ahmed expressed serious concern on the reports about Indian occupation forces setting up a so-called new investigation agency in IIOJK, adding that this could be another repressive tool to further terrorize Kashmiris.

This would be yet another manifestation of state terrorism in IIOJK where Kashmiri Muslims are physically and economically being eliminated as part of the policy of the New Delhi to strengthen its illegal hold on the territory and suppress voices for self-determination.

According to Indian media, New Delhi on Monday approved the establishment of a new, specialized investigating agency, State Investigation Agency (SIA), in IIOJK which will primarily investigate terrorism-related cases.

This is despite the fact that it is the Indian Government which is guilty of terrorism against innocent Kashmiris whose only crime is to seek right of self-determination as guaranteed by the UN Security Council resolutions.

The Indian policy and tactics in occupied territory can be judged by the fact that Kashmiri students are penalized, threatened and persecuted by occupation forces over a cricket match between Pakistan and India. This is the level of tolerance in the so-called largest democracy of the globe.

The establishment of another tool to persecute Kashmiri Muslims would, of course, increase their sufferings but India is unlikely to gain anything in the final analysis as Kashmiris have a legitimate cause and cannot be browbeaten by such tactics.
