Srinagar-Jammu Highway, Mughal Road closed

In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Jammu-Srinagar Highway and the Mughal Road have been closed for vehicular traffics due to mud-slides, landslides and shooting stones on the road stretch in Ramban and Poonch districts respectively.

The Srinagar-Jammu Highway is the lifeline of the landlocked Kashmir Valley and the main road link connecting Kashmir with the rest of the world.

SrinagarJammu highway is closed for vehicular traffic due to mudslides and shooting stones at various stretches between Ramban and Banihal areas, traffic police officials said .

Meanwhile, the Mughal Road has also been blocked due to the landslide in Poonch district.

Traffic police officials said a major landslide has blocked the Mughal road for traffic movement near Ratta Chamb bridge. They said to clear the road may take much time.

Deputy Superintendent Police (DySP) Traffic RajouriPoonch, Nawaz Chohan said some vehicles are stranded on the road, traffic is as of now halted and will be allowed after road is cleared.—KMS
