Road crashes 8th leading cause of death

Thousands of industry members and workers are exposed to traffic accidents that cause social and economic losses to society and the country every year, and fatalities can be reduced by implementing traffic rules through effective planning.
It was unanimously declared by the participants of a Road Safety Seminar and CEO Excellence award Ceremony jointly organized by Coppergat Cables and NHMP Training College in Lahore.
Commandant Training College DIG Mehboob Aslam, Mian Safdar Hussain CEO Coopergat Cables, Veteran Actor Aftikhar Thauker, Muhammad Shahid Hamza VP, Tahir Saleem Butt GM, Tufail GM, industrial workers and officers of Motorway Police participated.
Commandant NHMP Training College Mahboob Aslam, Mian Safdar Hussain, CEO Coopergat and other speakers highlighted different essential aspects of road safety.
Addressing the participants of the Road Safety Seminar participants, Commandant NHMP Training College Mahboob Aslam said that road accident are a global challenge as millions of people lose their lives in road crashes.
He further said that road crashes are the 8th leading cause of death by any form of the disease, but if the current ratio of accidents continues, it will become the fifth leading cause of death by 2030.
The participants also informed that road accidents are the leading cause of death among people from five to twenty-nine.
Commandant Mahboob Aslam stressed that observance of traffic rules and road safety measu ple, and media has always tried to perform its role without fail.
The participants were shown different videos relating to important road safety issues by the Road Safety Team of NHMP Training College. In the Road Safety Seminar, a particular focus was laid on the importance of using a helmet while riding a bike, using back view mirrors, fastening seat belts while driving a vehicle, blind spots, dozing at the wheel, distracted driving, and other important road safety issues.
The Commandant Training College DIG Mahboob Aslam and CEO Mian Safdar distributed excellence awards among the industrial worker for ten-year celebration and best achievements.
