Speakers in the First National Consultative Meeting held at Gomal University D I Khan on Tuesday, called for full utilization of the natural resources of Waziristan.
Participants included Vice Chancellor Khushal Khan Khattak University, Karak, Dr. Johar Ali Khan, VC University of Science and Technology, Bannu, Prof. Dr. Sultan Mehmood, VC Gomal University, Dera Ismail Khan, Dr. Iftikhar Ahmad (T.I), Vice Chancellor Agriculture University, Dera Ismail Khan, Prof. Dr. Masroor Elahi Babar, Ex Vice Chancellor Agriculture University Peshawar, Prof. Dr. Khan Bahadur, Ex Vice Chancellor, Islamia College Peshawar, Prof. Dr. Habib Ahmad, DFO Wildlife, D.I.Khan, Khan Malook Khan, while Vice Chancellor Abbotabad University, Dr. Tahir Irfan Chaired the meeting.
Addressing the meeting, Participants lamented that only a little chunk of natural resources from Waziristan were utilized while a huge part goes unused. They further stressed upon the role that local Universities has to play in conducting researches to explore and paving the ways for utilization of natural resources of the area.
Focal Person of the meeting, Dr. Asma Saeed, Deans, Directors and Heads of all the departments of Gomal University were present at the meeting. While concluding the meeting, Vice Chancellor Gomal University, Dr. Iftikhar Ahmad (T.I) thanked the participants on this history changing meeting and distributed the honorary shields among them. Guests also took part in plantation of the trees in Gomal University.
