Special Assistant to CM Sindh on Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Syed Qassim Naveed Qamar has said that Sindh is the first province of the country which issued driving license to hearing impaired persons and has taken many initiatives to make the life of the special persons better.
This he said while talking to a delegation of an NGO Potohar Mental Health Association, working in Punjab for rights of the differently abled people. On this occasion President Potohar Zulqurnain Asghar, Project Director Farah Zulqurnain, Director DEPD Ghulam Nabi Nizamani, Deputy Secretary Shahzaib Shaikh, Abid Lashari NDF and others were also present.
Zulqurnain Asghar President Potohar informed Special Assistant to CM Sindh on Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Syed Qassim Naveed Qamar that their organization was working for the rights of differently abled people and wanted to enhance its working across the country and in this regard they needed the cooperation of Sindh government.
Syed Qassim Naveed Qamar, while assuring them his full cooperation, told Sindh government had taken many steps to implement Sindh Disability Act 2018 in letter and spirit.
He said that Special CNICs, Disability Certificates were being issued to special persons, while smart card, having certain features and date was going to be launched soon in Sindh, adding that five percent job quota for special persons in public and private sector was also being ensured.
The members of the delegation appreciated the measures, taken Sindh government for the welfare of the special children/ persons.
