Sindh govt, WB to launch water supply, sewerage improvement project in rural areasSindh government and World Bank agreed to launch $300m project for rehabilitation of water supply and sewerage system in rural areas of Sindh.

The agreement was reached out in meeting of a three-member delegation of World Bank led by Andress Rhode with CS Sindh Sohail Rajput here, said a statement issued here. The meeting discussed Karachi Water Supply and Sewerage Improvement Project  while K4 and STP-IV projects also came under discussion in detail.CS asked the World Bank to fund the STP-IV as that was Government’s highest priority to clean the sea discharges. At the meeting, representatives of World Bank and Chief Secretary Sindh agreed to launch 300m USD for rehabilitation of water supply and sewerage system in rural areas of Sindh. The CS also reiterated the resolve to achieve critical deliverables of reforms in KW&SB before start of SOP-2 of KWSSIP.
