KARACHI – The government of Sindh is set to offer interest-free loans to students of Agricultural University Tando Jam, in latest measure to fire up agricultural education in the region.
The new initiative aims to help students with financial woes and to encourage them to pursue entrepreneurial ventures within the agricultural sector.
Sindh’s Agriculture Minister Sardar Bakhsh Mehr unveiled initiative, stressing significance of equipping young agricultural students with resources needed to become future business owners. By offering these loans, the provincial government seeks to form new cohort of agricultural entrepreneurs who can drive innovation and prosperity in the province.

The government is taking steps to address issue of climate change, with special focus on agriculture. Minister also emphasized that by investing in the education of young agricultural students, the government is also investing in the future resilience and sustainability of Sindh’s agricultural industry.
To ensure the program’s effectiveness, Department of Agriculture at Agricultural University Tando Jam will oversee the disbursement of these loans. Under the new program, the government is enhancing agricultural education by supporting emerging talent.
In a similar development, the government is developing Hari Card project aimed at further assisting both farmers and agricultural students.
The interest-free loan program is touted to be great initiative empowering young agricultural students and addressing climate change challenges. Together with Hari Card project, this initiative underscores the Sindh government’s dedication to nurturing the next generation of agricultural leaders and ensuring a prosperous future for agriculture in the region.
