KARACHI – Sindh government is set to roll out solar panels scheme to around 2lac families under Solar Energy Project to address ongoing electricity shortage and high electricity bills, with support from World Bank to promote clean and green energy.

Sindh Energy Minister announced that the distribution of free solar panels will start in late August. Minister said the government will start distributing solar panels in all districts.
PPP-led Sindh government aimed to provide affordable electricity to offer relief to inflation hit poople, as high cost of electricity is sky-high. Minister also called ensuring transparency in the project, at directives from Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto. He added that alternative energy sources would benefit people across Sindh.
