The DJ Sports Complex witnessed the grand opening of the sixth edition of the Sindh College Games 2024 on Tuesday. The inauguration ceremony was led by Sindh Provincial Minister for Information, Minorities Affairs, and Social Welfare, Muhammad Ahmed Shah, accompanied by Sindh Provincial Minister for Education, Rana Hussain, and Secretary of College Education, Sindh, Sadaf Anees Sheikh. During his opening address, Minister Shah emphasized the pivotal role of youth in shaping the nation’s future.
Highlighting that 60% of Pakistan’s population is under the age of 24, he encouraged all young individuals, particularly women, to strive for their full potential. Regardless of background or circumstances, Minister Shah urged the youth to rely on their strength and passion, emphasizing that success is achievable through determination.
Addressing women athletes directly, he encouraged them to carry themselves with pride and confidence, emphasizing equality and the opportunities available in the modern world. Minister Shah expressed that every individual has the potential to achieve greatness, citing examples like Benazir Bhutto and Ra’ana Liaquat Ali Khan. The ceremony marked the commencement of a sporting event aimed at fostering talent and camaraderie among college students in Sindh.
On this occasion, Provincial Minister of Education, Rana Hussain, stated that the objective of the Sindh College Games is to showcase the abilities of the youth, enabling them to excel mentally and physically. She further stated that students from 370 colleges across the province will compete against each other in the games, showcasing their enthusiasm for healthy competition.
