KARACHI – The Sindh government has announced a public holiday in the province on February 5 in connection with Kashmir Day.

A notification issued by the provincial government stated that Sindh will observe Kashmir Solidarity Day on Saturday (February 5).

The federal government has yet not released a notification for the public holiday.

On February 5, Kashmir Solidarity Day is observed to express wholehearted support of the Pakistani nation to the struggle of Kashmiri people for their inalienable right to self-determination under the UN resolutions.

The day, 5th February is marked to expose the worst ever oppression being perpetrated by Indian occupation forces against Kashmiris in IIOJ&K.

The international community largely slammed Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi after his government revoked the special status of the occupied Jammu and Kashmir by abolishing Article 370 of the Indian Constitution.
