Pakistan Muslim League President and former Prime Minister Chaudhry Shujat Hussain has welcomed the statement of Russian President Vladimir Putin in which he condemned blasphemy in honor of the Holy Prophet (ﷺ). “I pay tribute to President Putin for his courageous stance in front of the world”, he said.
Ch Shujat Hussain said that the Holy Prophet is the dearest to all Muslims than their lives, wealth and children. Contempt in the honour of the Holy Prophet hurts the sentiments of the Muslims most. He said the world now knows that insulting any prophet or religion is not freedom of expression in any manner.
Ch Shujat Hussain said that since I have seen President Putin, I appreciate his domineering personality; his bold statement in the current world situation is a breath of fresh air.
