Sharjeel Memon visits rain-affected areas

Sindh Information Minister and Focal Person of Rain Emergency Sharjeel Inam Memon visited the affected areas for the fourth consecutive day and assured the people of the full cooperation of the Sindh government is relief and restoration work after the devastating rains.

The draining of rainwater in different units of Latifabad could not be completed even on the fifth day. Taking notice of the situation, Sharjeel Memon ordered demolition of encroachment on the drain from Latifabad Unit No12 Chungi Naka to Fateh Chowk SITE Area.

Acting on the instructions, the district administration with the help of WASA started demolishing various permanent encroachment with the help of heavy machinery.Deputy Commissioner Fuad Ghaffar Soomro was present on this occasion.

WASA SDO Latifabad Kashif Arain told Sharjeel Memon that the level of accumulated water has started to decrease and the situation was expected to return to normal in the affected areas during two to three days.
