Shallwani inspects ongoing uplift work in Nazimabad

Administrator Iftikhar Ali Shallwani has said that work is underway to install safety grilles on both sides of the Teen-hit bridge, tiling the sidewalks, removing encroachments and beautifying this historic bridge which will be completed in the next one week. Planting and cleaning work is being done on both sides of the green belt and highway of Pakistan Highway, after which significant changes will be seen on this highway and encroachments from this highway will also be removed. The Administrator said this while inspecting on-going development work in Teen Hatti, Liaquatabad, Ayesha Manzil and Water Pump area on Saturday. He was accompanied by Director General Parks Taha Saleem, Director Cultural and Sports Syed Khurshid Shah, Chief Engineer Najeeb Ahmed and other officials. Shallwani said that KMC would continue to work on making roads motorable, tree planting on highways, removal of encroachments and cleaning work. He said that he was in touch with other local bodies of the city in this regard. The work is being completed in collaboration with all uplift bodies. The Administrator said Frere Hall, Burns Garden, Sir Syed Park, Bagh Ibn-e- Qasim and other KMC parks are being cleaned and a large number of trees are being planted in them, he said. Will be able o provide opportunities where people can spend leisure time with their families, he said, adding that planting trees in the green belt will not only enhance the beauty of the city but also reduce air pollution. Orders have also been issued for lining and repair of KMC roads which have been affected or damaged during the previous rains, while bridging and flyover access joints are being replaced to reduce traffic congestion. Flow will improve and citizens will face less suffering. Shallwani also planted a sapling at Ayesha Manzil Chowrangi under the tree planting campaign. On this occasion he directed that in the tree planting campaign In addition to poplar and neem trees, shade trees should be planted more, the tree planting campaign will be completed in a week. The administrator requested the people of Karachi and various agencies to assist KMC in cleaning, tree planting, painting and construction works.
