Schools to open in remaining districts from June 7: Raas

Punjab Minister for Education Murad Raas on Friday hinted at reduction in summer vacations in educational institutes across the province.

Responding to queries by media persons about the summer vacations on Friday, the provincial minister said this time there would be fewer summer vacations in educational institutes that would be opened across the province of Punjab from June 7, 2021.

The provincial minister said that all teachers should be vaccinated before opening of schools, colleges and other educational institutes from the next month.

Earlier, Punjab Higher Education issued a notification of closing colleges in 25 districts including Lahore as the educational activities were barred in the cities with more than 5 percent ratio of COVID-19 infections.

ivate and public colleges in 25 districts of the province until further order as per the order of the National Coordination Committee in the wake of a dangerous rise in coronavirus cases.

The govt also the intermediate classes till further order while the higher educational institutions are allowed to carry on educational activities as per previous order.

On the other hand, Punjab School Education Department also issued a notification of the closure of the school from 9th to intermediate classes in 15 districts.

The districts include Lahore, Bahawalpur, Bakhar, DG Khan, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Jhang, Khanewal, Multan, RY Khan, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Shekhupura, Okara, and Toba Tek Singh. The schools in the above-mentioned districts have been closed because of the high ratio of coronavirus cases.
