Lahore District Education Authority (DAE) failed to provide books to the sixth, seventh and eighth grade students at a time when the summer school holidays are about to end in a week’s time.
The Punjab Ombudsman sought an explanation from the District Authority in this regard. The Ombudsman sought a certificate from the education authority that they would provide the books within two days.
On the other hand, Punjab Teachers Union asked the government to extend the summer holidays for two more weeks. PTU General Secretary Rana Liaquat Ali said that the next academic calendar has been reduced to 186 days. PTU said that books would be provided before August 1st.
