The Supreme Court has issued directives to sell the land of Nasla Tower, the multi-storey residential building demolished on the court’s orders, and compensate the affected individuals. Following the court’s decision to demolish the 15-storey complex in June 2021 due to illegal construction, the builders were instructed to refund the affected residents and businesses within three months.

During the recent hearing at the Karachi registry, the counsel representing Nasla Tower affectees informed the court that the builder had passed away, leaving the clients in uncertainty. In response, the court instructed the affected individuals to present their ownership documents to the official assignee. Justice QaziFaez Isa also ordered the placement of advertisements in newspapers for the sale of the land. Notably, key suspects in the case, including ManzoorQadir Kaka and Khair Muhammad Dahri, secured bail from the Sindh High Court, despite the case being initiated on the orders of the Supreme Court.
