The exchange rate of Pakistani rupee lost Rs 1.53 against the US dollar in the interbank trading on Wednesday and closed at Rs159.83 against the previous day’s closing of Rs158.30.
Meanwhile, according to Forex Association of Pakistan, the buying and selling rates of dollar in the open market were recorded at Rs158.5 and Rs159.5 respectively.
In interbank trading, the price of euro appreciated by Rs 2.09 and closed at Rs189.90 against the last day’s trading of Rs187.81, State Bank of Pakistan reported.
The Japanese Yen gained two paisas to close at Rs1.53, whereas an increase of Rs 3.16 was witnessed in the exchange rate of British Pound which was traded at Rs 212.33 against Rs 209.17 in the previous day. The exchange rates of Emirates Dirham and Saudi Riyal also increased by 41 paisas each to close at Rs 43.51 and Rs 42.61 respectively.—APP
