Riphah International University (RIU), in collaboration with the Health Research Advisory Board (HealthRAB), proudly organized the National Symposium on Health System Research. The event was hosted by the esteemed National Institute of Health (NIH) in partnership with the Health Services Academy (HSA) on Tuesday 16 January 2024.
The National Symposium on Health System Research provided an esteemed platform for researchers, healthcare professionals, policymakers, and academicians to exchange insights, present cutting-edge research findings, and explore innovative approaches within the realm of health system research.
The symposium facilitated discussions on critical issues impacting the healthcare sector, fostered collaboration, and advocated for evidence-based strategies to enhance the overall health system.
The program commenced with the recitation of the Quran. Subsequently, distinguished speakers addressed the audience, including Dr. NighatMurad (NIH), Dr. Abdul Basit (HealthRAB), Mr. Hassan Muhammad Khan (Chancellor Riphah), Dr. NaveedAsghar (WHO), and Maj. Gen (R) Prof. Dr. Amir Ikram (Ex ED NIH).
All speakers underscored the paramount importance of research in healthcare.
They shed light on the challenges of data collection in the healthcare sector, expressing the need for systematic improvements. The speakers advocated for indigenous research efforts rather than reliance on foreign data, emphasizing the imperative to initiate research at all levels.
