In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Chairman of Tehreek-e-Muzahamat, Bilal Ahmed Siddiqui has paid rich tributes to Tufail Mattoo on his 11th martyrdom anniversary and all the martyrs of 2010 uprising.
17-year-old Tufail Matoo was returning home from tuition when a teargas shell fired by Indian police hit him on the back of his head near Ghani Memorial Stadium at Rajouri Kadal in Srinagar on June 11, 2010, killing him on the spot.
His death had triggered massive anti-India protests in the territory and subsequent use of brute force on the demonstrators by Indian troops and police personnel had resulted in the killing of more than 120 youth within few months.
Bilal Ahmed Siddiqui in a statement issued in Srinagar, while saluting the sacrifices of the Kashmiri youth hailed the courage and patience of families of martyrs for their unending and continued search for justice despite all odds.
He said no power on earth can force the people of Kashmir to shun their struggle. “We have kept this struggle alive in all ages and we will continue to resist and struggle for complete freedom from India’s illegal occupation,” he added.—KMS
