Railways Minister Sheikh Rashid has said that resignations will not cause any harm to the government and come what may, the resignations will not benefit the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) either.
Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed said Imran Khan will become stronger after Senate 2021 elections. He pointed out that the opposition wants to negotiate with someone else, not Imran Khan.
“Who does the opposition Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) desires to hold talks with if it is not willing to hold dialogue with PM Imran Khan”, he posed a question.
“The people they [opposition parties] have a desire [to hold talks with] are against Nawaz Sharif’s narrative and agenda.” He was of the opinion that political parties should not shut the doors of dialogue. Addressing a news conference in Lahore on Thursday, he predicted that Minar-e-Pakistan was the place that elevated Imran Khan to new heights but it will prove as a place where PDM will go down. The railways minister, who is famous for his political predictions, predicted that if all the former prime ministers and political bigwigs will die, even then JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman will not get the slot he wishes for. He mocked that December 13 will come and go but nothing will happen contrary to the claims of the opposition about taking big decisions.
Sh Rasheed said that time is coming when people will be irritated with opposition’s politics. He said that Prime Minister Imran Khan will start getting good news from December 14 to December 16. Sh Rasheed termed 2021 a crucial year and asked the opposition whether they want to put the country’s politics at stake for the sake of just one person. “December, 13, 14, 15, and 16 will bring good news for PM Imran Khan,” he predicted.
He said opposition lawmakers’ resignations from assemblies make no difference to PM Khan.
The minister said the prime minister will get stronger after Senate elections scheduled to take place in March 2020 while opposition leaders will face harder times. Commenting on the PDM’s decision to stage a long march towards Islamabad in last week of January, he said cold weather will welcome them next month.
