Reception held in Islamabad in honour of Dr Ghulam Nabi Fai

A reception was held in Islamabad in honor of Dr Ghulam Nabi Fai, Chairman of the World Forum for Peace and Justice and a Kashmiri leader based in the United States.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the reception was organized by Dr Pir Ali Raza Bukhari, Permanent Representative of the Pakistan Council for Social Welfare and Human Rights to the United Nations.

On this occasion, Dr Ghulam Nabi Fai, Pir Ali Raza Bukhari, APHC-AJK Convener Mahmood Ahmed Sagar, President of Tehreek-e-Kashmir UK, Raja Faheem Kayani and other speakers expressed their determination to intensify the struggle for the freedom of Jammu and Kashmir.

The speakers said despite the illegal Indian actions of August 5, 2019, there has been no change in the disputed status of Jammu and Kashmir at the international level. They said for the establishment of sustainable peace in South Asia, the Kashmir dispute should be resolved through the United Nations Security Council resolutions.

They expressed deep concern over the implementation of black laws, serious violations of human rights, arrests of citizens, journalists, human rights workers and political leaders in occupied Kashmir.

The speakers said for a just and lasting solution to the Kashmir dispute, it is necessary to provide an opportunity to the Kashmiri people to freely exercise their right to self-determination.

They said there is a need to formulate a Kashmir action policy to settle the Kashmir dispute. Pakistan, they said, has always conveyed the voice of Kashmiris to the whole world at the diplomatic level and has always highlighted the difficulties and sacrifices of the Kashmiris in the ongoing struggle for right to self-determination.

The speakers paid tribute to Dr Ghulam Nabi Fai and said he has done many services in raising the Kashmir dispute at the international level and has played the role of Kashmir’s ambassador. The speakers further said Kashmir’s relationship with Pakistan is strong, Kashmiri people are brave and they should get the right to self-determination as per the United Nations resolutions.

Special guest Dr Ghulam Nabi Fai said many renowned journalists of the world have recognized the reality of the Kashmir liberation movement and appreciated the contribution of Hurriyat leadership.

On this occasion, Chairman of Pakistan Council for Social Welfare and Human Rights Muhammad Ijaz Noori, former Member of Punjab Assembly Tahir Mahmood Hindli, DG Dawah Academy, Faisal Masjid, Dr Muhammad Ilyas, Hurriyat leaders Ghulam Muhammad Safi and Muhammad Rafiq Dar, former Chairman of Pearl Development Authority Arshad Niazi, President of Pakistan Federation Union of Journalists Muhammad Afzal Butt, and others also spoke.—KMS
