Reception held for IIRO Secretary General Saudi Arabia will continue to support Pakistan economy, stability

Pakistan and Saudi Arabia enjoy exemplary brotherly relations and the Kingdom will continue to support Pakistan’s economy and play role in progress and prosperity of the people of Pakistan.
These views were expressed by Secretary General International Islamic Relief Organization (IIRO) Abdul Rehman Bin Muhammad Al Mattar while speaking at a dinner hosted by Chairman Qamar Jahan Foundation Dr Jamal Nasir in his honour.
Director General of the Organization for Welfare & Development Ali Mohammad Al-Kamal and senior members of the organization were also present on the occasion.
Abdul Rehman Mattar said Saudi Arabia valued its ties with Pakistan and both the countries had common heritage of religious belief, cultural identity and faith in Islam and its teachings.
The reception held at the Islamabad Club was attended by eminent scholars, religious figures, notable personalities of the town, parliamentarians and members of civil society including leader of the JUI-F Senator Abdul Ghafoor Haideri, President of the IIU, Dr Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh, Custodian of Eidgah Sharif Pir Naqeeb-ur-Rehman, Mohtamim Darrul Aloom Qazi Abdul Rasheed, Harkat-ul-Mujahideen leader Qazi Abdul Rehman Khalil, DG IIU Sheikh Saad Masood Al-Harsi, Head of the Pakistan Sweet Home Zamurd Khan, senior members of Rawalpindi Chamber o Commerce & Industries (RCCI) Sohail Altaf, Syed Asad Mashadi, Regional Director College of Physicians & Surgeons Prof Shoaib Shafi, Barrister Danya Chaudhry, Raja Shakeel Kiani, Tahir Mehmood Khan, Dr Ashar Alamgir, Dr Matiullah, Dr Jahangir Sarwr, Zubair Nasir and others.
Addressing on the occasion, Ghafoor Haideri said Saudi Arabia was the centre of Muslims’ aspirations and all the Islamic states revered Saudi Arabia and people of Pakistan stand side by side with the people of Saudi Arabia.
He paid rich tributes to IIRO for its services to the Islamic world and urged the philanthropists, local civil society leaders to follow its noble example.
Dr Yousif Al-Draiweesh said relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia are strengthening with passage of every day and the services of IIRO in this regard are commendable.
Sohail Altaf while highlighting plight of the Kashmiri people in the Indian held Kashmir (IHK) said Kashmiris were facing worst humanitarian conditions in the held Kashmir under curfew imposed by the occupying Indian forces for the last six months. He called upon the world forums, the UN, EU and the OIC to take notice of the atrocities being committed by the Indian forces against the unarmed, innocent Kashmiri men, women and children.
