Rural Development Foundation (RDF) and Riphah International University jointly organized a free Medical Camp in Union Council Ghari Afghana, Tehsil Taxila. The purpose of the camp was to provide health services to those people who don’t have access to specialist doctors and cannot afford to purchase medicines. More than 300 people were examined/treated at the medical camp. Dr. Azhar Halim, senior dermatologist (Riphah International University) and Dr. Abdul Ghaffar senior urologist along with their teams of doctors specialized pediatricians, gynecologists, dentists, physiotherapists, eyes and medicines participated in the event and served poor community during extreme weather conditions.
The camp also included free sugar test and free Hepatitis Vaccination. Brig (R) Muhammad Aslam Khan, President RDF along with his team including Mr. Zil Ur Rehman Qureshi, Director Projects RDF, Dr. Zahid Mehmood MO RDF, Mr. Khushkhal Khan Khattak Project Officer RDF, Mr. Rasool Badshah also visited and participated in the camp. President RDF expressed gratitude to Dr. Azhar Halim and his team for their wonderful job. Dr. Azhar Halim also thanked RDF for its cooperation and ensured that for such medical camps he and his team would always remain available. The Community of Union Council Ghari Afghana thanked both the organizations. It was a great cause and social service as the camp served population of almost 10 villages of the UC, it said.
