Chairman Rawalpindi Development Authority Tariq Mehmood Murtaza has assured for extending all cooperation to resolve the problems faced by trader community on priority basis.
He made the assurance while speaking to a delegation of Rawalpindi Chamber of Small Traders and Small Industries which called on him on Wednesday.
Suggestions for resolving the problems of the traders came under discussion during the meeting
Tariq Mehmood Murtaza said that initially measures would be taken to provide parking facilities at vacant plots of Municipal Corporation and Tehsil Office Rawalpindi.
He said that an operation will also be launched very soon against the encroachments and the problems of traders will be resolved on priority basis.
Talking about Ring Road project, the Chairman RDA said that work on the project would be kicked off on December 25, this year.
He said, shifting of wholesale markets and truck terminals along Ring Road would help resolve traffic issues being faced in the city.
The Chairman RDA said that a meeting would be convened in this regard within shortest possible time frame and all the authorities concerned including Commissioner Rawalpindi Division, CO Municipal Corporation and CTO would be invited.
