K-Electric (KE) has called on Pakistan Railways to clear overdue payments totaling Rs 430 million, accumulated since May 2024 across 31 connections. The utility warned that sustaining electricity supply without payment is no longer feasible. Despite repeated notices and past disconnections, KE has restored supply multiple times based on commitments from railway authorities to settle dues and pay monthly bills on time.
However, these assurances have repeatedly been breached. KE stated, “In such circumstances, KE will have no option but to indefinitely disconnect defaulting connections until payments are received.”
The utility emphasized that continued non-payment would leave them with no choice but to halt services indefinitely. Furthermore, urged earliest resolution of KE’s legitimate outstanding dues and that Pak Railways in the interest of their passengers must pay these dues at earliest.
