Special Assistant to Punjab CM on Information Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan has said that the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan and endless efforts of Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar have materialized the dream of progressive into reality.
“Difficult time is over and the country is now on the “right track” to progress at many fronts”, the special assistant claimed, adding that the incumbent government steered the country out of the problems and difficulties with its successful strategy and timely decisions.
Dr Firdous said that the Punjab chief minister is fully aware of his responsibilities and taking timely decisions to deal with any untoward situation. “The government is committed to resolve people’s problems besides ensuring basic amenities at their doorstep instead of pomp and show like rulers of the former regime.”
She said that recent developments in various sectors have proved that Punjab is rapidly heading towards progress and prosperity. The Punjab Assembly has passed so far 58 bills of public interest in two years and the credit for this goes to Punjab Chief Minister, she stated.
She said that despite difficult circumstances, the government started working on 9 hospitals and 7 universities in the province which are near completion. She said that programs like “Sehat Insaf Card” and “Insaf Medicine Card” underscore the priorities of the government which is bent upon improving healthcare facilities in the province.
She said that the former rulers focused on their personal welfare instead of working for the betterment of people and the country, but now the masses have rejected them. She said that even the death of late Begum Shamim Akhtar cannot refrain the PML-N spokespersons from doing political point-scoring. The chief minister directed the release of Shehbaz Sharif on parole on humanitarian grounds even before the announcement of the funeral.
While criticizing former PM Nawaz Sharif and his children, Firdous Ashiq Awan regretted that those who frequently used chartered planes at government expenses for a luxurious lifestyle should be ashamed to send the dead body of their mother/grandmother through a cargo plane.
“It is bewildering that hue and cry is being made for the release of jailed leaders but those who are out of prison are not even interested to take part in the funeral of their mother”, she pointed out and added that all this shows the height of hypocrisy and disrespect to the matriarch.
The special assistant regretted that the opposition has been doing politics merely to save their plunder at the cost of national interest.
She urged the opposition to stop the politics of hypocrisy and focus on genuine public issues to facilitate the masses and lead the country to prosperity.
