Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Barrister Gohar Ali said Monday that he would file a revision appeal against the Supreme Court’s decision to deprive the party of its iconic ‘bat’ election symbol. He was speaking to the media outside Adiala Jail.

Barrister Gohar Ali said that the PTI would release the list of its candidates with their respective election symbols within three days, and asked the people to vote for them in the upcoming general elections on February 8. He said that the seats that were kept pending would be finalized soon.

He also criticized the Supreme Court’s verdict, saying that it had affected the basic rights of 25o million people and was a successful conspiracy against democracy.
He said that the decision had caused a great loss to democracy and would pave the way for corruption. He said that the case should have been heard by a five-member bench of the Supreme Court, not by a three-member bench. He questioned the legality of withdrawing the mark of PTI from the ballot papers.
