Leader of Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) and Member of National Assembly (MNA) Major (retd) Tahir Sadiq has strongly criticized the government for its failure to control ever escalating price hike of basic commodities and massive corruption at gross roots level and urged the Prime Minister Imran Khan to get rid out of incompetent and incapable Ministers and bureaucracy who are against the ideology as well as manifesto of the party.
Addressing press conference in Attock, the PTI lawmaker has criticize its own government and given a wakeup call to party leadership especially Prime Minister to address the basic issues like prevailing corruption in government departments and inflation failing which party would face serious political debacle in future. Mr Sadiq who is always vocal against the poor policies of the government and corruption of local administrative officials, on Monday openly claimed that during the PTI rule, corruption has increased in government department to 40 percent and inflation up to 100 percent which is playing havoc with common man especially salaried class and daily wages.
Mr Sadiq urged the Prime Minister to take stock of incompetency and in capability of his deputies, bureaucracy which have deliberately failed to address the grievances of the common man and take a massive sweep to make the PTI house in order. Continuing to criticize price hike, the PTI parliamentarian, condemn the ever escalating prices of flour, sugar, medicines, vegetables, gas, electricity and other commodities. He urged to devolve a mechanism to discourage the growing prices of basic commodities as “just imposing fine on a vendor or shopkeeper would not address the issue while it would increase hate against the government.”
He alleged that postings in the government departments are being made through kick backs instead on merit and in violation of government posting, transfers policy. Responding a question, he said that the tiger force could not address the price hike issue as it has no legal cover or legal capacity to take action against illegal profiteers and evolving the force in this matter would create law and order issue, he warned. “We were hopeful of bringing about a change, but disappointment is rife. Neither are people getting relief from corruption nor is any change taking place in living standard of the common man,” Mr Sadiq said. The PTI legislator recalled that Prime Minister Imran Khan had promised to work for betterment of masses, getting rid out from inflation and corruption, “but it has not happened”. The PTI MNA also blasted the district administration Attock on various issues.
