WASHINGTON,  D.C – US President Joe Biden has tested positive for COVID-19, according to American media reports. The 81-year-old president’s diagnosis was confirmed after routine testing, leading him to suspend all political activities.

The White House announced that President Biden is experiencing mild symptoms and has received a COVID-19 vaccination.

Despite the diagnosis, he will continue to perform his duties in self-isolation.

President Biden was on an election campaign in Las Vegas when the positive test result was announced. It  prevented him from delivering a planned speech.

This development comes at a critical time, as Biden’s re-nomination as the Democratic presidential candidate faces challenges.

Due to increasing opposition from the party leaders, the Democratic Party has postponed his re-nomination for a week.

Furthermore, the recent polls indicate that two-thirds of Democrats prefer a different candidate for the upcoming presidential election.
