President Dr Arif Alvi has stressed the need for educating the human resource in an efficient manner to drive the engine of artificial intelligence for achieving the goals of fast-paced development.
He was addressing the twenty-second sustainable development conference organized by Sustainable Development Policy Institute in Islamabad on Monday.
The president said Fourth Industrial Revolution has potential to influence our minds in a unique manner.
He said we need to improve the quality of teaching in the best interest of the country and for development of human resource as well.
He said there is a gap between the requirement of market and what we are producing that needs to be bridged in the education sector by imparting the relevant skills to the students.
Speaking on the occasion, Special Assistant on Social Protection and Poverty Alleviation Dr. Sania Nishtar said the most important wealth of the country is development of its human resource.
She said the world is shifting in terms of development and the government’s Ehsaas Program resonates with the spirit of sustainable development goals framework. She said it is the ambitious program of development initiated by the government.
She said industrial revolution has increased the demand of skilled human resource.
Expressing his views, Chairperson Board of Governors, SDPI Ambassador Shafqat Kakakhel said sustainable development in the digital society signifies the important role of digital revolution in all aspects of life.
On his part, Executive Director SDPI Dr. Abid Qaiyum Suleri said labour market is facing challenge owing to technological change therefore; we have to train our workers as per the demands of latest technology to achieve sustainable development goals.
He said the trained youth will prove to be beneficial for Pakistan to prepare for the fo.urth industrial revolution.
