Distributes certificates of appreciation among personnel
Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar has stated that police have been given complete freedom to work including that of political pressures. For the first time in the history of Punjab, the police are performing their duties sans any political pressure and this has yielded good results, he noted and pointed out that police appointments have also been made on merit.
He visited the Central Police Office (CPO) where he was greeted by a smartly turned-out contingent of police.
He planted a sapling and took a keen interest in the antiques preserved in the police museum, especially antique weapons, uniforms and medals.
While asking the police officers to hold regular open courts, the CM said they are accountable to the people and, above all, to Allah Almighty. Provision of prompt relief to the victims is your foremost duty, he stressed.
Police officers should keep the doors of their offices open to the public.
RPOs and DPOs should conduct surprise visits to police stations in their respective jurisdictions and take action on any irregularities or violations of law; he emphasized and added that the culprits of the Anarkali blast would soon be brought to book.
The CM announced in-principle approval to employ two members of the families of the martyrs and explained that further steps would be taken in this regard keeping in view the legal requirements. He said the scope of the Punjab Safe City Authority would be extended across the province as recruitment has been approved in it. In Dera Ghazi Khan and Rajanpur, the command of Baloch Levies has been handed over to the police and more than 9,000 police personnel have been promoted, he said.
Sardar Usman Buzdar on the occasion of his visit to the Central Police Office distributed certificates of appreciation and cash prizes among the officers and personnel who showed excellent performance during their duties.
RPO Gujranwala Imran Ahmar, DPO Sialkot Omar Saeed Malik, SDPO Saddar Sialkot were given certificates of appreciation while SHO PS Agoki and Warden Sialkot police were given 50,000 cash along with certificates.
Si-milarly, DPO Khushab Muham-mad Naveed was awarded a certificate of appreciation for resolving the case of the kidnapping of a minor for ransom and SHO Joharabad, who was part of his team, was given one lakh cash and certificate.
Nowshera, Mitha Tiwana and City Joharabad SHOs were awarded Rs 50,000 each along with certificates of appreciation. Rewards were given to four Rawalpindi police personnel for solving the case of abduction and murder of Wajiha Swati, a Pakistani-American. SHO Morgah and Sub-Inspector Nasir Mumtaz were given Rs50,000 and certificates while Head Constable Yasir Nouman and Constable Jabber Hussain were given Rs.30 thousand each along with certificates.
