The Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) apprehended an Indian vessel poaching in Pakistani Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) along with crew members. According to a news release on Tuesday, the vessel Satya Vati (Registration no.- INDGJ21MM153) was apprehended on Monday during routine patrolling by PMSA.
The PMSA regularly patrols Pakistan EEZ to ensure protection of own fishermen while ensuring no foreign fishing vessels conducts poaching inside Pakistan EEZ. The PMSA has launched focus Operation MUSTAID in which continuous presence will be maintained in Pakistan EEZ near Sir Creek to protect own fishermen and prevent poaching in the sea. The apprehended boat is being towed to Karachi for further legal proceedings as per Pakistani law and UN Convention on Law of the Sea.
