UNDER the banner of Rehmatul Lil AlameenAuthority, Prime Minister Imran Khan held thought-provoking sessions with the Muslim scholars on Saturday and Sunday, touching upon the challenges faced by the Muslim society and their solutions as per the life and teachings of the holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him).

In his remarks, Prime Minister Imran Khan very rightly pointed out that the sex crimes and corruption have sharply increased in our societies, stressing that a society has to take stand against corruption making it unacceptable.

Islam indeed is a complete code of life which offers solutions to the most urgent issues of the day.

The religious scholars in their candid and threadbare conversation also alluded to the same highlighting that through the creation of adequate awareness about Seerat and Sunnah, the Muslim youth should be educated to glide through the current age challenges.

They also dotted down certain collective efforts by the Muslim countries to brace for the negative impacts of modernity.

Problems such as sex crimes and corruption should be seen as a serious disease and responsibility rests with different segments of the society including the religious scholars to play their part to cure them.

It is however important that the religious scholars also demonstrate profound self-discipline and embody the principles they want to see in other people as it is only then others will also listen to and follow their messages.

As regards addressing the issue of sex crimes, one of the scholars put the right emphasis on inculcating in our youths and children the respect of women, and for this, he highlighted the role of mothers and fathers to raise their sons with this sensibility.

Certainly the Muslim society would not have been facing the issue of moral and ethical degradation, had it not deviated from the golden principles and teachings of Islam.

We need to reconnect our people with those teachings to raise the standards of the Muslim society.

In this regard, the very initiative of Prime Minister Imran Khan of holding dialogue with the religious scholars is a step in the right direction, and the people need to listen to this whenever they occur to get a better understanding of issues and their solutions.

Since prominent scholars from different regions are engaged in it, this will really help project the true spirit of Islam and its teachings.
