The Pakistan Muslim League-N on Saturday demanded investigation of Rawalpindi Commissioner Liaqat Ali Chattha while the Pakistan People’s Party called for formation of a judicial commission to probe the rigging allegations.
“Rawalpindi Division Commissioner Liaqat Ali Chatha must be investigated and set an example for the sake of the country in this case,” said Marriyum Aurangzeb, speaking at a press conference held at the party’s secretariat in Model Town on Saturday, emphasized the necessity of scrutinizing Chattha’s recent activities.
Attaulalh Tarar and Uzma Bukhari were also present there. “An investigation must be conducted into the commissioner’s recent contacts over the last eight days, and his name must be placed on the Exit Control List,” she demanded.
She launched scathing criticism against the PTI and its top leadership, denouncing them as disruptive forces.
“If your allegations are valid, present them. Accusing the country’s top judge and the chief election commissioner without evidence must cease,” she said.
The PML-N spokesperson also highlighted the need for responsibility among all stakeholders, urging a focused approach during Pakistan’s critical juncture.
“Baseless allegations and attempts to seek refuge abroad must halt. Let’s address concerns through appropriate forums,” she declared, calling on PTI to end what she labelled as “false propaganda”.
She called Imran Khan and PTI as “fitna” and said that this fitna should have been beheaded when it surfaced ahead of the Chinese president’s expected visit.
Addressing the media, Aurangzeb appealed for constructive engagement, emphasizing the importance of adhering to truth and integrity during sensitive times.
